The institute will follow the course and curriculum of Calcutta University as the affiliating body.
The Structure of the course consists of six theory papers and four practical papers.
Students are advised to recheck the website of Calcutta University time to time for the upgraded syllabus if any.
The theory and practical papers contain marks as follows.
Theory Papers : 600 marks
Practical Papers: 400 marks |

Paper I : Foundations and Development of Education in Independent India
- Foundations of Education
- Development of Education in Independent India.
Paper II : Psychology of Learning and Instruction
- Psychology of Learning
- Psychological Bases of Instruction.
Paper III : Educational Management
- Institutional Management
- Management of Manpower Resource. |
The theory papers, in addition, consist of two method subjects and one elective subject as stated below
Method Subjects (any two):- Bengali, English, Physical Science, Life Science, Mathematics, Geography, Economics , Commerce and Computer Education. |
Elective Subjects (any one):- Guidance and Counseling, Measurement and Evaluation of Education, Population and Environmental Education. Education of women in India, Educational Technology. |
Practical Papers: Practical papers are designed for development of Teaching Skills and Instructional Material [For two Method Papers]: Paper VII, VIII, IX and X as follows:
Paper VII : Demonstration for Laboratory Practical and / or simulated lesson.
Paper VIII : Teaching Practical
Paper IX : Sessional Activities related to Pedagogical Study.
Paper X : Sessional Activities Related to Teaching and Community Outreach Activities. |
